According to Hightimes, researchers added 4,300 papers on cannabis to PubMed.gov in 2022, bringing the total to 42,500.

Along with numerous state-level advances in 2022, Maryland, Missouri, and Rhode Island passed adult-use cannabis laws. That brings the total to 38 states with medical access and 21 states with adult-use access.

According to the most recent Leafly Jobs Report, the (legal) cannabis industry now employs over 428,000 full-time workers (up 33% percent from last year). Connecticut is expected to have around 10,500 people working in cannabis by 2025.

Another study showed 90% of opiate users reduced or stopped their opiate use after starting medical cannabis. This is mounting evidence for the use of cannabis for chronic pain.
